Cummins-Allison, a Canadian provider of coin and currency handling solutions, recently made availble its new “strapper-ready” MPS 4200 currency sorter machine. Announced as the only tabletop currency sorter machine in the United States and Canada to offer an automatic strapping option, the MPS 4200 was built to reach a strapper processing speed of 1000 notes-per-minute, and designed to satisfy increased productivity demands of multiple environments across the financial and casino industries.

“Businesses are examining solutions that will both improve operational processes and offer a quick return on investment (ROI). We saw a gap in the market where we could advance our technology and develop an affordable, high-performing currency sorter with a strapping capability. The new MPS 4200 provides the automation that businesses are currently looking for—at an attractive price point,” said Cummins-Allison President Doug Mennie.

In addition to its processing speed, efficiency and strapper-ready configuration, the MPS 4200 offers flexibility in its software-based customization. Fitness levels can be preconfigured to change at the touch of a button—another time-saving feature when sorting bills for different uses, such as the ATM dispenser or the teller drawer. The sorter also employs sophisticated currency scanning technology to provide the highest level of counterfeit detection available.

“The superior processing speed and automatic strapping options of the new MPS 4200 model improve productivity within the financial and casino industries,” said Curtis Hallowell, Vice President, Product Management for Cummins-Allison. “Customers benefit from the reliability, durability and technical expertise they have come to expect from Cummins-Allison.”
